I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer. I chose my profession from an early age and took matters into my own hands to make sure my dream came to fruition. But I didn’t always know what kind of lawyer I wanted to be. On the contrary, the focus of my legal career chose me.
I now know how lucky I am…
When you told me we were facing the toughest judge in Ontario, I was worried. But when I saw all the other lawyers congratulate you, I felt like I picked the right guy.

Criminal Defence Lawyer and DUI Expert
I’ve been a practicing criminal defence lawyer in Mississauga for over 25 years. Throughout my career, while I do defend a wide range of charges, my primary focus has been DUIs and impaired driving. With hundreds of successfully won cases, solid relationships with Crowns and Judges, and an open-door policy with other defence lawyers who regularly ask for my help, I’ve come to be known as an expert in the field.
A few years ago, a police officer hired me to defend his case after he was charged with a DUI. When I asked him how he found me, he said, “I asked my police friends who they lose to in court and they all said Jonathan Lapid, so here I am.”
What else you need to know
